Our editorial standard
Useful automation starts with trustworthy inputs.
Faultwise exists to make an appliance display easier to understand without pretending every problem is a safe do-it-yourself repair.
Manufacturer first
Every indexed code page records a manufacturer support page or manual used to verify the code meaning. Where codes vary by model, we say so and point the reader back to the exact manual.
One intent, one page
Alternate spellings and synonymous codes are grouped. We do not publish separate pages merely because people phrase the same search differently.
Automation with review
Structured automation helps organize sources, create consistent layouts, and find missing fields. It does not get to invent a code meaning, model match, or repair instruction.
Conservative safety
Our steps stop at checks a typical owner can perform without bypassing safety systems or accessing live electrical, gas, refrigerant, or sealed-system components.
Visible provenance
Each guide names its source and the date it was checked. A manufacturer source can change, so readers can inspect the original material directly.
Corrections over volume
Incomplete records stay out of search. When information conflicts, the page is corrected or removed rather than padded with generic advice.
Ads stay separate
Advertising is labeled and does not determine which brands, codes, causes, or repair steps appear. Ads are kept away from urgent warnings and ordered diagnostic steps.
